THE LUSTY MONTH OF MAY

First of all, I love those of you who know where the headline above came from.  It's fitting for the news we have for you today. 

Secondly -- the DVD of the Sundance favorite FORGIVING THE FRANKLINS will be available on May 20, 2008.  Indie Pictures will be handling the release, and their website will be updated tomorrow.

This spunky little company has a lot in common with Grinning Idiot Entertainment.  They believe in challenging the commercially driven artificial wisdom about what films belong in the marketplace, and we're proud to be working with them to bring you this very independent, very unique film.

The FRANKLINS are wrapping up a three week run in Greensboro NC -- it was held over for two weeks, outperforming many higher profile films.  What a run, what a rush!  A big thank you to Rob McHone at the Carousel Cinemas for giving this spunky little indie a home, and a supersized thank you to journalist and radio personality Joe Scott for all of his support.

We're looking at other possible theatrical venues, and a DVD release as early as this spring.  Stay tuned.  Fans of the film will be happy get the DVD in their hands to share with friends, and the people who hate the film -- well, I'd like to think they have no friends to share it with anyway.

Greensboro Loves THE FRANKLINS!

Well, THE FRANKLINS have spent their first weekend in a theater in NC, and handily beat August Rush, Beowulf, Hitman, This Christmas, I'm Not There and The Mist at the box office.  The only films at the same multiplex that it didn't beat were I Am Legend, Enchanted, and No Country For Old Men, which comes as no surprise.  

So the run has been extended and the word continues to spread.  

It's going to be a naked Christmas in NC!

It's a couple of days before the theatrical debut of FTF in Greensboro, NC.... and it's a very exciting time.  

If you're in the Triad area, don't miss this chance to see the Franklins with an audience.  Watching it on DVD is fun, but seeing it with an audience is the best.  Be sure to bring your friends --  you'll certainly have a lot to talk about on the way home and for days to come. 

I'll be doing a live radio interview on THE MOVIE SHOW on Thursday night from 7P-9P on WUAG 103.1.  Tune in if you're around and not doing something tawdry or unspeakable.  Or tune in while you're doing something tawdry or unspeakable.  Just tune in...

Do you know the way to Santa Fe?

If you do, it's a fine time to head to the Santa Fe Film Festival, where FORGIVING THE FRANKLINS will be screening as a special presentation on opening night, Wednesday, November 28th at 7PM at the Armory For The Arts.  

It's the only engagement currently scheduled in New Mexico, so be sure to pop by.  I can promise you an unforgettable evening.

THE FRANKLINS ARE COMING! (No, really. They are!)

Hello all.

FORGIVING THE FRANKLINS, a popular film at the Sundance Film Festival and several other outstanding festivals around the country, is making it's theatrical debut in Greensboro, NC in December.  

Why Greensboro?  Easy.  I'm from there, I shot part of it there, and Greensboro is a great city. 

So if you happen to live in the Triad area, keep your eyes on The Carousel Cinema.  

If you happen to be in Santa Fe, New Mexico, you'll be able to see THE FRANKLINS on the opening night of the Santa Fe Film Festival.

Please check back here for more dates and screening locations, and to keep up with all things FRANKLIN... including the impending release of the DVD.  

Heck -- if you're one of the thousands of people who've seen the film and want to ask me something, by all means do so here.  Avoid spoilers, please.  As you know, unpredictability is one of the best things about the story, so let's  not spoil it for the virgins.
